As you play the game your score will appear at the top right of the screen. Depending upon what form of the game you are playing, in the top left of the screen will be the total you are chasing, your run rate and the scores your two current batsmen have made. You have eleven batters altogether and when one gets out a new one will come in until you run out of batters or complete the overs. You can hit 2 runs, 3, 4 or even six. At the end of each over you are taken to a score sheet where you can track your progress.
You can click on red colored book that’s titled – How To Play Stick Cricket. If you were expecting a massive tome on all aspects of the game, expect not. Three ‘rules’ define how the game is played on-screen:
- Watch the bowler closely as he bowls.
- Tap the correct button at the correct time.
- Tap in the direction you want to hit the ball.
Pitches in Stick Cricket will be divided into two categories. The first category is the so-called -tump category and includes offstump, middlestump and legstump. Learn to recognize this first and you'll be well on your way to winning Stick Cricket.
Figure out the length.
Next, you need to figure out the second category of pitch, which is short or full. This is easy because it's simply based on how far the ball goes. Put this all together and you'll have the name of the Stick Cricket pitch, such as offstump-full or legstump-short.
Make a judgement call.
Non-spin pitches are easy and you can use whatever arrow key corresponds with the direction the ball is traveling. If it goes to your left, swing left. On the right side, swing right. No tricky spins are around to throw you off this time.
