Never Lose a Mission:

Gangstar Vegas is a pretty easy game. In Gangstar Rio, you were able to access the shop in every mission, meaning you could always purchase med-kits as the situation dictated. That has been made even easier in Vegas, and in reality you should never really die during a mission.

Access the shop via the Map screen and purchase med-kits, body armor, weapons and ammo using the options provided. Of course, this costs money, but compared to having to do a mission again from scratch it's well worth it.

Med-kits are very scarce in general gameplay, so you will end up having to purchase them for the most part.

Don't Use Cover:

Of course you should use cover every now and then. But for the most part, you don't need to. The game isn't really difficult enough and if you want to pass missions more easily, a run and gun approach is better. You should be fine purchasing the med kits and armor you need to survive. The cover system isn't great and you will find yourself struggling to use it effectively. The best option is to only use it when necessary.

Fast Travel:
As well as the above, which will save you the time of never having to restart a mission, you should also remember that you never need to drive to a mission location to start them. Simply open the Map screen, tap on the icon of the mission that you want to start, then select to begin. This means you don't waste time, effort and vehicles going around Vegas to get where you need to go.

Bike Controls:

When on a motorcycle, drag the V-Stick sideways to lean.Hold the throttle while leaning back to do a wheelie. Hold the brake while leaning forward to do a stoppie. Hold both throttle and brake at low speed to do a burnout. Brake and steer to drift.

Buy the Best Weapons:

Rather than waiting to come across a particularly effective weapon, you should instead try to purchase one as early as you can. It makes missions much easier if you have bought an assault rifle and don't have to rely on pistols and uzis. Also, it will mean you can focus your skills on the higher-class weaponry rather than ones that you won't be using for long like handguns.

Keys:

You get 'Keys' very rarely during missions, but can purchase them with real money or through gambling at the Vegas Casinos. Keys can be used to unlock chests that contain very rare items, so are worth using if you do come across them. They aren't the difference between success or failure, however, so you may not want to part with real cash to get them.
